Hi families,
One More Night Under the Montana Sky... what a bummer because this trip has been unreal!
Our overnight float on the Madison was absolutely legendary. The fish were fired up and everyone got in on the action — we're talking lots of beautiful fish landed, with a couple of true HOGS thrown in for good measure. The smiles on the water said it all, and the energy out there was something we won't forget anytime soon. Nights like that are what this trip is all about.
Today we kept things relaxed — the guys tackled all the group gear while getting in some serious pool and ping pong action here at basecamp. Everyone welcomed the slower pace after such a big stretch of days on the water. Then it was time to give back: we headed out to complete our service project, collecting data on Madison River tributaries and doing our part to look after the watershed that's given us so much this trip. Watching these boys show up and put in real work for something bigger than themselves was awesome to see — no complaints, just effort.
Now? The steaks are going on the grill for a proper banquet dinner, and after that we've got an epic game of ultimate frisbee on deck before we cap the whole thing off with root beer floats under the Montana sky. Not a bad way to spend a last night out here.
But beyond all the fishing and the adventures and the laughs, what's really stood out this trip is the group these boys have become. From day one in the backcountry to right now around basecamp, they have worked hard together, looked out for each other, and built the kind of friendships that don't fade when the trip ends. They pushed through challenges, leaned on one another, and showed up every single day with great attitudes and genuine enthusiasm. As guides, we couldn't be more proud of each and every one of them — they truly knocked it out of the park, and then some.
We are so sad to see them go, but we are sending them home with full hearts, great memories, and tight lines. This has been a truly special group, and we hope to see every one of them back out here next summer!
